Tasks

The center is interested in carrying out scientific research of applied importance based on modern biotechnologies in its various fields (molecular indicators, tissue culture, genetic modification, ... etc.) with the aim of contributing to solving some problems related to human health and plant and animal studies, and this is achieved through:

Transfer and localization of modern biotechnologies.

• Training human cadres on all modern vital technologies.

• Developing scientific research plans that contribute to solving some important problems in the health, agricultural and environmental fields.

• Supporting scientific research conducted by postgraduate students in a number of scientific colleges related to the Center's interests.

• Preparing and implementing studies and research received from public or private agencies and participating in the application of joint research with ministries and specialized scientific bodies in accordance with the plans of the Center.

• Cooperating with public and private entities in order to achieve the goals of the center, and to contribute to the development of the biotechnology sector and coordination among them within the framework of the national network of biotechnologies.

• Holding scientific seminars and conferences and participating in various scientific activities inside and outside the Syrian Arab Republic.

• Publishing the results of research and studies carried out by the center through periodicals, books and specialized publications.

• Formation of a scientific database in the field of biotechnology and its applications, to serve researchers in the center and in the various faculties of the university.
