Definition
Based on the decision of the Council of Higher Education No. /100/ dated 12/19/2020, the Technology Transfer Office was established at Tishreen University by the decision issued by the President of Tishreen University No. /167/ dated 10/19/2022.
The Technology Transfer Office is associated with the President of Tishreen University, and its task is to coordinate with the Higher Authority for Scientific Research in related tasks and topics, namely:
Employing the scientific capabilities available at Tishreen University to meet the needs of the productive and service sectors through ideas and research projects at the university level.
- Marketing the research completed at Tishreen University and the patents registered there.
- Establishing a data bank with the research and technical outputs of Tishreen University, and constantly updating it.
- Work to spread and consolidate the culture of developmental scientific research, promote the culture of intellectual property, and spread the idea of entrepreneurship among students and researchers.
Tasks
Tasks of the Technology Transfer Office at Tishreen University:
- Seeing the scientific research carried out at Tishreen University and communicating with researchers regarding it.
Evaluating the completed scientific research and comparing them to select the most important and applicable ones on the ground.
- Providing the Technology Transfer Department at the Higher Commission for Scientific Research with the selected research to be presented to the National Committee for Technology Transfer, approval and promotion, and presented to specialists and concerned parties (productive or service).
Activities
The current activities of the Technology Transfer Office at Tishreen University:
- Establishing a database of scientific research carried out at Tishreen University.
Addressing faculties and higher institutes at Tishreen University to nominate a group of applicable scientific research on the ground (PhD - MA - graduation project - scientific research).
- Evaluation of scientific research nominated by faculties and higher institutes at Tishreen University.
