Definition

The Directorate of Engineering Affairs and Services is one of the most important directorates in the central administration of the university, as it provides all engineering services to all its directorates, colleges, institutes, departments, and facilities. Securing their engineering requirements to enable them to perform their duties and contribute to the conduct of university affairs and the achievement of its goals.

Its purpose:

Participate in the preparation of draft plans for new university buildings and prepare the necessary studies for them.


Preparing the necessary data for the annual and five-year plans, implementing them, and following up on that in cooperation with the Directorate of Planning and Statistics.


Participation in the membership of the committees following up the implementation of the university's plans, in the membership of the tender committees, and in the committees for the temporary and final receipt of the completed work, including equipment and furniture.


* Organizing preliminary plans and technical specifications books, auditing studies related to university projects, and expressing an opinion on the prices offered for contracts and sales.


* Accomplishments necessary for university projects in partnership with the designated authorities.


Organizing a file for each project of the university and for each of the existing buildings.


* Supervising university buildings projects, working on maintaining, expanding or restoring them, and conducting the necessary studies for them.


Organizing and checking provisional and final lists of university projects.


Preserving plans and documents related to university buildings and facilities.


Carrying out maintenance work at the university and organizing and coordinating gardens.


Ensure the cleanliness of the campus.

The Directorate was established in accordance with the internal regulations of the university, and includes the following departments:

Tasks

First - Management:

- Director of Engineering Affairs: Dr. Engineer Saer Yehia Saliba.

Duties of the Director of Engineering Affairs:

- He supervises the activity of the Directorate, directs its employees, follows up their work and monitors their working hours, and is responsible for implementing laws and regulations in the field of the Directorate.

- Work to achieve the tasks entrusted to the Directorate.

Sign all transactions and correspondence issued by the Directorate.

Paying attention to raising the level of employees in the directorate and improving their collective performance.

Proposal to grant workers administrative and health leave.

- Evaluate the performance of employees in accordance with laws and regulations.

- Suggesting granting employees incentive rewards and penalties against violators.

Participate in the preparation of draft plans for new university buildings and supervise the preparation and audit of the necessary studies.

Follow-up the implementation of projects binding on the public and private sectors.

- Follow-up supervision contracts, studies and audits with public authorities and practice offices at Damascus University.

Organizing and checking the periodic statements of the implementing agencies.

Supervising the preservation of copies of the plans of the university buildings in order to return to them when needed.

- Supervising the organization and coordination of gardens

Second - the Engineering Department

Proposing the distribution of work to the employees of the department.


Receiving the department's mail and distributing it to the people in the department.


-Follow up the completion of transactions received by his department, supervise the preparation of responses, readings, and draft books, and check them before presenting them to the director, prepare the studies required of him, and respond to everything that must be answered.


Sign all transactions and correspondence issued by his department.


Paying attention to raising the level of workers in his department and improving their collective performance.

Participate in evaluating their performance in accordance with laws and regulations.

- Supervising the preparation of studies and designing the necessary designs for university projects, as well as checking and receiving them


Participate in the preparation of the technical files necessary for the implementation of projects, including plans, books of conditions, technical specifications and a schedule of quantities


Follow-up the preparation of contracts with contractors from the public sector or the private sector and ensure their validity and legality


Supervising the planning of the implementation process, both temporally and financially, in line with the university's plan, in cooperation with the Planning Directorate
