The department was established in 1987.
The department includes a dermatological clinic in which the service process takes place: patient examination, minor surgery, electrocoagulation therapy, and liquid nitrogen treatment.
The department also includes a laser room that includes a PDL pigment laser used in the following main dermatological indications:
Flat floaters
Torque birthmarks
Vasodilators
The department is also concerned with the teaching process for fourth year medical students and clinical training for fifth and sixth year medical students.
The department includes two nurses and seventeen postgraduate students, where the department's professors undertake the teaching task in both theoretical and practical aspects, and supervise master's theses.
