Department of Libraries

In order to prepare graduates who are knowledgeable in evaluating and organizing various sources of information, and in using information and communications technology and information networks in all aspects of specialization, the Library and Information Department follows programs capable of developing the capabilities of students and qualifying them well to work in various library institutions and information centers, as well as applying quality standards and Providing supplies for the educational process.

The Library and Information Department program at the Faculty of Arts and Human Sciences at Tishreen University aims to:

1- Preparing and qualifying specialized cadres at a certain academic level to work in various institutions by preparing them in a way that is compatible with the changes of the times.

2- Ensure that rehabilitation programs are appropriate to the type and size of library and information institutions of all types.

3- Qualifying a staff capable of understanding the beneficiary’s behavior and determining his current and future information needs, given that the primary goal of establishing libraries and information centers is to secure the information needs of beneficiaries in various specializations.

4- Qualifying a staff capable of designing, evaluating and using office databases.

5- Preparing a specialized cadre capable of possessing the knowledge, skills and experience that qualifies him to carry out the tasks of his specialty and transfer the acquired knowledge in its implicit and explicit forms.
