(2): The Research Master program requirements:
1. The
student should have a BA in Arts, English Language department from any
governmental university in the Syrian Arab Republic or its equivalent from any
institute or university recognized by university council under regulations of
higher education council in one of the following specializations:

(3): To get the MA degree, the student should

2- The student passes the module if he gets 60% of the
total mark. The student fails the module, the mark of which has two parts, unless
he gets at least 40% of the mark for each part the module.
3- The subjects of each module mentioned above are
determined by the faculty council resolution depending on the specialized
department council.
4- The total mark of the exam consists of two parts.
One part goes to the years' work of the student, and the other part goes to the
final exam. At the beginning of every academic
year, the faculty council admits the percentage of the years' work mark for all
the courses based on a suggestion introduced by the department councils under
the condition that the years' work mark should not exceed 40% of the total mark.
5- The student who fails the first year has the right
to resit the failed modules just for one year. Nevertheless, in case he fails
any of the modules again, he is separated from the master degree and considered
automatically registered in the following studying year.
B—1—To conduct a research after succeeding in all the
exams of the first year. The topic of the research should be approved by the
University Council after being recommended by the Department Council and
approved by the Faculty Council. The research should be done in a period of
time no less than one year starting from the University Council's approval to
the research topic.
2—The
deadline given to the student to complete registering the research topic is
three months starting from the date of announcing the exam results. The Council
of Scientific Research and Postgraduate Studies is the authorized body to make
a decision in this regard. In case the student fails to register the research,
their registration is terminated.
3— The
student should prepare a seminar on the progress of the research every four
months before a panel designated by the concerned department council. If the
student does not show satisfactory results at the end of the last four months,
their registration or enrollment is terminated or cancelled.
C. To present the results of their research in a
thesis approved by the panel after being publicly discussed.
Article (4) The degree mentioned in article (1) of
this resolution is considered open starting from the academic year 2013-2014.
Article (5) Any other item not stated in this
resolution is subject to the regulations of University Regulation Law,
Executive Regulations, and the related resolutions of the Council of Higher
Education.
