The department proposes the following strategic research axes:
- Studying marine pollution with oil and ship waste, which negatively affects the environment.
- Studying the reduction of ship engine exhaust emissions that negatively affect the environment.
- Studying the behavior of propellers.
- Study maneuvering and steering rudders.
- Study of resistors in open water and through thin water and channels.
- Studying the oscillating movements of ships and their damping methods.
- Studying the balance of ships in investment conditions and in conditions of failure.
- Study the structural design of ships.
- Study of heat exchange in marine exchangers and marine steam generators.
- Study of gas exchange and performance quality of marine diesel engines and marine power stations (gas and steam)
- Diagnosing the technical condition of marine machines and mechanisms using statistical and engineering methods.
- Study of the flow around the hulls of ships in limited waters (channels - waterways) related to the phenomenon of static and dynamic descent of the ship's draft.
