The
Faculty of Agricultural Engineering at Tishreen University, represented by the
Dean, Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Hamdan Saqr, Prof. Dr. Issa Kbibo, Prof. Dr. Gerges
Makhoul, and Prof. Dr. Nizar Maala, participated in the interactive dialogue
seminar entitled (Positives and Negatives of Tropical Agriculture in the Syrian
Coast), which was held in Tartous Governorate under the patronage of Mr. Firas
Al-Hamed, Governor of Tartous, and in the presence of the President of the Union
of Syrian Chambers of Agriculture, Mr. Eng. Muhammad Kashto, with the
participation of a number of researchers and stakeholders from public bodies in
the governorates of Tartous and Lattakia, and farmers who have experience in
this field.
The college professors enriched the
symposium with their interventions, which emphasized the necessity of
organizing tropical agriculture on the Syrian coast instead of limiting its
spread by including these crops in the agricultural production plan and providing
production requirements for farmers and urging them to implement this plan.
