French language teaching department

Mission, Vision and goals:

Mission of the Department:

The Department mission includes supervising:

Ø  teaching of French in all the faculties and institutes at Tishreen University as well as assigning qualified teachers;

Ø  teaching French for students of the open learning programmes at Tishreen University;

Ø  teaching at the master of French Language Teaching;

Ø  teaching French for all level at the National Centre for the Distinguished.

Courses:

Ø  French language courses for all levels. Registration is open and continuous throughout the year;

Ø  French language courses for students from Tishreen University and the other Syrian Universities to be sent on scholarship to European universities;

Ø  As part of connecting the University with society, Summer courses are given to the children of all the university teaching staff and employees.

Exams:

Ø  Language ability tests for doctorate candidates;

Ø  Language ability tests for master candidates;

Ø  National language ability tests required for public offices.

Books:

Ø  As the Higher Institute of Languages is responsible for setting the foreign language books to be taught in the first and second year at all faculties and institutes at the university, it has recommended the following books:

Ø  Studio 100- level 2 for first year students to be taught in the first and second terms at the different faculties and institutes at Tishreen University except the Department of English.

Ø  Studio 100- level 1 for first year students in the Department of English to be taught in the first and second terms,

Ø  Science-Technique.com to be taught in the faculties of Engineering and Basic Science.

Ø  Sante-com to be taught in faculties of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, and Nursing.

Ø  Affaire-com to be taught in the Faculty of Economics.

Ø  Le Francaisjuridque to be taught in the Faculty of Law.

Ø  La Litterature en Dialogue to be taught in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities.
