Presidential Decree Appoints Dr. Iyad Ismail Fahsa as President of Latakia University
President Ahmad Al-Shar'a issued Legislative
Decree No. 132 of 2025 appointing Professor Dr. Iyad Ismail Fahsa as President
of Latakia University.
Dr. Iyad Fahsa holds a Bachelor's degree in
Civil Engineering from the Faculty of Civil Engineering at Latakia University,
awarded in 1983. He received a Ph.D. in Surveying and Geodesy in 1992 from the
Warsaw University of Technology in Poland.
Vice Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering
for Student Affairs and Administrative Affairs at Latakia University from 2007
to 2009.
Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering at
Latakia University from 2009 to 2011.
Director of the Technical Engineering Institute
at Latakia University from 2019 to 2021.
Vice President of Latakia University for Student
Affairs and Administrative Affairs since June 21, 2021, to present
